Description of The Horse Thief

I used a real horse shoe for this chipping sparrow to perch on with his piece of gold thread. I loved coming across the fact about chipping sparrows and their need to line their nests with human and horse hair. They actually pluck hair from their unsuspecting insulating targets.
The piece is custom framed in a solid redwood frame and is “floating” meaning that it is not encased so none of the edges are lost and it has a more open feel.
