Jeweled Shadows

I was working toward more abstraction in this work and wanted to incorporate drawing and line into this painting. By using charcoal to emphasize darker shadows and enhance the colors the piece has a quality of expression and immediacy.
This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges painted to match the front of the painting. The work is varnished and ready to hang. All materials are high quality and archival.

The painting has been varnished with Gamvar, an archival varnish, that gives the charcoal permanence.
