A Fine Phalarope

This oil painting combines many layered colors in deep purples, gold, greens, blue, and pink.

This is a Wilson’s Phalarope that I spotted in the Sierra Valley of northern California. It was early morning and the sun caught the golden light on the bird’s long neck.
